About Sarah
In 2013 I moved to Oaxaca, Mexico, to attend Roca Blanca Spanish Language School. Upon completion of this program in 2014, I moved back to Oklahoma and started a position at the Martin Regional Library branch of the Tulsa City-County Library as a part-time Bilingual Circulation Clerk. I quickly moved up to different positions with more responsibilities at the branch: by March of 2015 I became a full-time Bilingual Children's Associate. In the public library, I found a career I wanted to explore so I began my MLIS through the University of Oklahoma-Tulsa in the fall of 2016. My time in Mexico studying Spanish set me on the path to librarianship and so I have chosen a photo of Roca Blanca (White Rock) in the Pacific Ocean as a background for this portfolio. Learning Spanish launched my librarian career.
